L’Amy Group Signs BALMAIN

Balmain

Fashion Couture house BALMAIN and the L’AMY Group are pleased to announce the signing of a global agreement for the design and distribution of prescription and sunglasses for the BALMAIN Brand.

Since it was established by Pierre Balmain in 1945, BALMAIN has become one of the most emblematic Parisian fashion houses. These past few years, BALMAIN has redefined the image of its prêt‐à‐porter line to become one of the most influential fashion brands and a genuine style reference. The brand is present in the main international markets and is sold in the most prestigious doors. In 2011, Olivier Rousteing was appointed Artistic Director of the BALMAIN collections for men and women.

The eyewear line for both men and women will reflect the DNA of the brand. The worldwide launching of this new collection will take place at the International Optics show in Milan in 2012 and accessory market week in New York to high‐end retailers, specialty stores and department stores.

Mr. Alain Chaumet, President of the L’AMY Group, is delighted by this partnership, which is part of the Group’s growth strategy. “We are very proud to have been chosen by BALMAIN, whose international reputation fits perfectly with our aim to develop luxury accessories and to expand our brand portfolio”.

The L’AMY Group is the largest eyewear company in France, and was established in 1810 in the mountain region of the French Jura’s. Under international license the L’AMY group develops frames for brands such as CHLOE, KENZO, NINA RICCI, SONIA RYKIEL, ROCHAS, THEORY, PROENZA SCHOULER, COLUMBIA and its own brand L’AMY Lunettes. Since the takeover in 2010 by Groupe TWC, a leading company in fashion accessories, the L’AMY Group has doubled its distribution capacity with existing subsidiaries in France, Italy, US and Australia, Germany, the Middle East and South East Asia.
