Happy Lunar New Year 2013!

Lunar New Year of the Snake

The snake has often been attributed with possessing supernatural powers with a hint of something sinister. Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that the reptile lives for so long (some species can live as long as 50 years). It also has a remarkable ability to shed its old, outgrown skin for a new one, symbolizing its ability to emerge from conflict with restored vigor.

Gifted with charisma and profound insight, those born in the year of the Snake are said to be analytical and possess great mental powers. They enjoy luxurious things and are effective at getting what they want.

In particular, 2013 is the year of the Water Snake, which is said to be a favorable year for new innovations and economic growth. So it seems there is a lot to look forward to this year.

Here is a peek into some Lunar New Year celebrations all around the world. How are you celebrating?
